By all accounts, we shouldn't even be talking about LMFAO. This electro-hop duo — the son and grandson of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy — has too many strikes against them. Their songs of endless, hedonistic partying, all captured on aptly titled debut Party Rock, attract the kind of audience we really, really try to avoid. You know, those douchey guys who don't leave their pads unless they're wearing a fresh Ed Hardy tee and enough Axe body spray to destroy your sense of smell. And don't forget the girls, those desperate-for-attention types who make out at the drop of a hat, just to get those Ed Hardy douches going. If that's not enough, LMFAO has worked with will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas, which alone should banish them from our pages for all eternity. And yet, with all that against them, their music is just shamelessly entertaining enough to win them a pass. (Party Rock's first single, "I'm in Miami Bitch," has to be the guilty-pleasure song of the year.) So, since we're willing to bump their music in our cars, there's a good chance we just might attend Thursday's House of Blues show. But we're bringing plenty of hand sanitizer.
