Radio Music Theatre gives us two-and-a-half decades of dysfunction

Family dysfunction is rarely funny, unless it's someone else's family, of course. Visit the most screwed-up family of all as you're transported to the fictional town of Dumpster, Texas, via the tiny stage of the Radio Music Theatre for A Fertle Holiday. Now in its 25th year, the show serves up a heaping portion of silliness, including a human TV antenna, Motel 6 sundries used as gifts, and the most depressed Santa Claus ever. But most of the fun comes from watching the three seasoned comedic impresarios - Steve Farrell (who also writes the plays), his wife Vicki Farrell and Rich Mills change clothes, wigs and voices to play all 12 characters. And by now, the show has created a family all its own: "People brought in their little kids 24 years ago, and they're still coming as adults," says Mark Cain, who's handled the shows' lighting and sound since the beginning.
