Disney's A Christmas Carol

Ebenezer Scrooge is spitting mad

Catch Jim Carrey at his multiple-personality best as he plays a young, middle-aged and old Ebenezer Scrooge - and the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come - in Disney's A Christmas Carol. The rubber-faced Carrey leads a cast that includes Gary Oldman (a.k.a. Sirius Black to Harry Potter fans) as Scrooge's much-maligned clerk, and Colin Firth (of Mamma Mia fame) as his ever-optimistic nephew. Scrooge takes his journey to find the true meaning of Christmas in both 3-D (which makes for especially fun scenes as he zooms overhead with his nightgown flying or spits at the audience) and performance capture (animation based on the movement of real actors, as seen in The Polar Express and Monster House). Screening times vary. The film runs daily through January 3. Houston Museum of Natural Science, One Hermann Circle Drive. For a full schedule, call 713-639-4629 or visit www.hmns.org. $10 to $15.
