Houston Homeless Run

Put your feet where your heart is

Mention the homeless and most people envision a scraggly man standing at an intersection with a homemade sign that says, “Will work for food.” Sure, that’s one segment of the homeless, but teens, women, families and the elderly are also among the 16,000 Houstonians who find themselves without shelter on any given night. The My Fellow Man’s Alliance’s annual Houston Homeless Run is the group’s yearly fund-raiser, providing the money the group needs to reduce and prevent homelessness. Be one of the 300 runners tackling a 10K competitive run, a 5K Run/Walk and a kid-size Little K. 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hermann Square, 900 Smith. For information, call 713-572-7831 or visit www.houstonhomelessrun.org. $15 to $40.
