Saturdays are usually pretty good, but this Saturday promises to be even better with a live transmission of Der Rosenkavalier, a performance that’s part of the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD broadcasting series. Renée Fleming, the woman many call this generation’s Beverly Sills for her ability to make opera accessible to the masses, will sing the role of the Marschallin in the comic opera. Viewers will not only see a great performance, they’ll be privy to some special interviews with the stars and behind-the-scenes tours. Noon.
