Massachusetts resident Jarrett Krosoczka graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and became an illustrator for an educational publisher. Pretty normal career path for an artist. A few months later, a quick trip to New York landed him his first book deal - as a writer. That's not so normal for an artist. (That first title was the lovely Good Night Monkey Boy.) After writing and illustrating more than half a dozen successful picture book titles, Krosoczka took another left turn and launched a series of graphic novels - about the lunch lady in a school cafeteria. Last Summer Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute and Lunch Lady and the League of Librarianshit the shelves and instantly won a rapt audience. Now Krosoczka's Punk Farm, about a group of farm animals who start their own underground rock band, is in development to become a feature film. Krosoczka will discuss his zigzag road to success during his reading and signing session today at the Blue Willow Bookshop. 14532 Memorial Drive.
