The "Allan Rodewald: Three Styles, One Artist" exhibit includes art from three different series of works - Fabric, Plexi-Canvas and Dream. The Plexi-Canvas cycle came about when Rodewald, who was included in "The Big Show" at Lawndale Art Center in 2008, was experimenting with painting in reverse on Plexiglas. "One day I set a Plexiglas piece in front of a canvas painting. I thought the two looked better together than separate, so I developed them to work as one," Rodewald says in press materials. "I call them my codependent [diptychs]...they are truly two pieces of art that do not work unless they are together." There'll be an opening reception 6 to 9 p.m. January 30.
