Drift away into a jazzy bygone era as Bayou City Concert Musicals performs the greatest hits of one of America's music icons in Let's Misbehave: The Early Cole Porter. This is the latest in a series of performances by the group spotlighting the masters of the Great American Songbook. Today's cabaret-style performance will focus on Porter's career in the 1920s, when, fresh out of the military and with a massive collection of compositions (he wrote his first operetta when he was ten), he arrived in New York to take the music world by the horns. He didn't have huge Broadway success until a decade later (with shows including Anything Goes and Kiss Me, Kate), but the '20s marked the peak of Porter's swinging playboy lifestyle - and a slew of hits, like "Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)," "I Get a Kick Out of You" and the classic "Night and Day." 7:30 p.m. Mondays. Through February 22. Ensemble Theatre. 3535 Main. For information, call 713-465-6484 or visit www.bayoucityconcertmusicals.org. $25.
Mondays. Starts: Feb. 8. Continues through Feb. 22, 2010
