Tom Green

The Canadian comedian travels to Houston sans Internet connection

Tom Greenis taking his comedy offline. The original MTV prankster-turned-Internet talk-show host is returning to the stage. "I've done stand-up over the years off and on," he says, adding, "I've never done a stand-up comedy tour before." So far, so good - Green reports sold-out shows in Atlanta and Edmonton, likely thanks to fans of his current Web cast, as well as those who remember him from The Tom Green Show and the films Freddy Got Fingered and Road Trip. Green says his sets are a mix of what audiences would expect - traditional stand-up tossed with the Canadian comedian's signature zaniness. "It's a high-energy show," he says. "I'm running around goofing off and doing some really silly stuff on the stage...and telling jokes." 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Improv, 7620 Katy Freeway. For information, call 713-333-8800 or visit www.improvhouston.com. $20 to $22.
Thu., Feb. 4, 8 p.m.; Fri., Feb. 5, 8 & 10:30 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 6, 8 & 10:30 p.m., 2010
