Amateurs go paintbrush to paintbrush with local professionals at Boo Town's It's Alive! Organizers call the event an evening of "artsy-fartsy activities for grown-ups." Working artists will staff booths, ready to demonstrate techniques and to assist visitors as they take a turn at creating artwork. Later in the evening, organizers will auction off works by both amateurs and working artists. Proceeds benefit Boo Town, producers of the annual Houston Fringe Festival and the monthly Grown-Up StoryTime. 7 to 11 p.m. Catbird's, 1336 Westheimer.
