More than 13,000 pairs of sneakered, calloused feet will hit the ground running today at the 23rd Annual ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run. There's a 10K race and 5K run/walk, plus a huge after-party for all the athletes and spectators. Live music and hoopla teams will dot the race course, which starts at Bayou Place (Smith at Texas) and winds its way through downtown Houston. The finish line is near Minute Maid Park (Texas at St. Emanuel), with the after-party taking place there. Last year's race raised $245,000 for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Education Fund, making its total contribution more than $2.2 million so far. 9:30 a.m. Downtown Houston. For information, call 832-667-1000 or visit www.hlsr.com. Free to $27.
