Bill Burr isn't fond of repeating himself. "I kind of retire [jokes], just because one of my huge paranoias is people actually knowing what I'm going to say before I get there," he says, explaining that he's shelved all the material from his HBO, DVD and Comedy Central specials. Burr has a knack for exhausting subjects such as racism, child predators and domestic abuse by ranting about them until all that's left is laughter. And with today's media providing plenty of reasons to be afraid, Burr really has no trouble finding new fodder for the funny. "If you give me a year, I'll come back with pretty much a whole new act," he says. Game on. 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The Improv, 7620 Katy Freeway. For information, call 713-333-8800 or visit www.improvhouston.com. $17 to $20.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 & 10:30 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 28, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Feb. 26. Continues through Feb. 27, 2010
