"I've noticed that the bigger indie bands do not release much music, they just focus on touring. I want to do that. I want to play everywhere," says Michael LaCour, a.k.a. B L A C K I E, as he sets forth on a quick pre-SXSW tour that routes him through Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Denton. In Lafayette, he will be taking part in Geronimo Fest, an event he says is akin to Houston's possibly defunct Westheimer Block Party. B's mixtape from this past winter, SPRED LUV, will soon be reissued via a disc pressing, complete with a few additional songs. He's armed with a new portable generator and a batch of new beats and tracks, so we may not be seeing much of Houston's favorite grime-hopper for awhile as he spreads some Bayou City love across the country.
