Based on the book by the same name, Vanessa Del Fabbero's play The Road to Home is the story of two South African women who share some time in a hospital ward. Monica, a white woman, is a journalist who was wounded while tracking down a story; Ella, a black woman, is a mother of two young boys and supposedly recovering from bronchitis. Born and raised in South Africa, Del Fabbero adds authenticity to the story as the two women overcome their differences in attitudes, backgrounds and outlooks, finally arriving at mutual respect. Expect an unexpected ending. (That's always the best kind.) 7 p.m. Country Playhouse, 12802 Queensbury Lane. For information, call 713-467-4497 or visit www.countryplayhouse.org. Free.
