Arizona-based reggae-inflected punk rockers Authority Zero pull into Wired Live tonight with fellow ska mavens the Voodoo Glow Skulls in tow. AZ may have the rabid young sporty fanbase, but VGS has history behind them. The band was a part of the third wave of ska in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s that included fellow SoCal natives No Doubt and Boston’s Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Over 12 albums, VGS has built a devoted following and become somewhat of a starter ska-punk for kids before they get into the heavy Jamaican dope down the line. You can put local openers The Failed Attempt and Always Guilty into that fold, both holding down the skankin’ duties for Houston at large over the past two years.
