The great thing about Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is that his kid-friendly world is not all sugar and spice. Never mind that the whole thing takes place in a candy factory where rivers are made of chocolate and hair is toffee; some of the kids in this story are just plain bitter. But that's okay, because Charlie and his family show the audience that being sweet on the inside is the only thing that really counts. 1 and 4 p.m. Saturdays. Through May 15 (no show May 8). Main Street Theater Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose. For information, call 713-524-6706 or visit www.mainstreettheater.com. $10 to $12.
