Introduce your children to the wonders of classical music. The first-ever public concert aimed at kids by Mercury Baroque, The Adventure of Baroque Music is set in 1704. England's Queen Anne has a problem with her orchestra. The oboe and bassoon players are running out of reeds. To make more, they need Arundo Donax, a French wood. Queen Anne sends two of her young subjects out to crisscross Europe in search of the wood. As the two travel through the various regions, the MB orchestra performs music written by the local composers of that time. MB founding member Ana Trevi–o-Godfrey narrates the musical adventure while Antoine Plante, MB artistic director, conducts. 10:30 a.m. Wortham Center, 500 Texas. For information, call 713-533-0080 or visit www.mercurybaroque.org. $12.
