This is Houston, where everyone is well aware of the force of nature (Ike, you bastard!). But the Houston Symphony's concert Forces of Nature has a different take on wind, rain, gravity and the universe. It starts with Mozart's Symphony No. 14, or Jupiter Symphony, as it's also known, a robust homage to Bach. Second, there's Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, also called the Pastoral Symphony, which reflects the composer's love of the Vienna countryside. 8 p.m. Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands. For information, call 281-363-3300 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. Free to $15.
Fri., May 14, 8 p.m., 2010
