Money, Marbles and Chalk! An Affectionate Sketch of Ann Richards

Actress Holland Taylor plays the late Texas governor

Deeply saddened by the death of Ann Richards, Emmy Award-winning actor Holland Taylor decided to reinvent herself as more than "a hired hand." For the last three years, Taylor researched and interviewed people about the late Texas governor's life and then wrote Money, Marbles and Chalk!, a one-woman play she’s starring in and bringing to Galveston. Come see the actress who plays Charlie Sheen's mother in Two and a Half Mentake on a whole different kind of role. 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The Grand 1984 Opera House, 2020 Postoffice Street, Galveston. For information, call 800-821-1894 or visit www.thegrand.com. $34 to $54.
