Buster Keaton, one of silent film's most loved comic actors, was in the director's chair for Sherlock, Jr. Called his most avant-garde feature, Sherlock, Jr. follows the dreams and adventures of a film projectionist (Keaton). In a highlight of the film, movie tricks, such as superimpositions and clever editing, show a ghost leaving the sleeping projectionist's body and walking into the screen.
