Slant: Bold Asian American Images

Melissa Hung and Aurora Picture Show throw quite a party this year

Aurora Picture Show has some surprises in store for the weekend birthday party of one of Houston’s most idiosyncratic film festivals, Slant: Bold Asian American Images, which is turning ten years old. On Friday, there's the usual assortment of enlightening shorts. On Saturday, there will be neo-benshi and live performances by Bay Area artists Neelanjana Banerjee and Robin Sukhadia along the lines of Woody Allen's hilariously badly dubbed What's Up, Tiger Lily? And closing out the weekend on Sunday, indie filmmaker PJ Raval hosts a salon.
