British electro duo La Roux came into the public consciousness around late 2008, about the same time that America's new Madonna/Marilyn Manson figure, Lady Gaga, also began making waves. Therefore, Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid's icy pop got a little lost in the pop-culture shuffle, which is a damned shame. La Roux's self-titled debut came battle-ready with tracks like "In for the Kill" and the lingering hooks of "Bulletproof." Touring slots with Lily Allen cemented them as chart-toppers across the pond, but only won a limited reception stateside. Hopefully this headlining run will change their fortunes in the colonies.
