"The White Album: Works by Six Artists Interpreting White"
These painters show us that there's a rainbow of whites
A half dozen painters contributed monochromatic work to the exhibit "The White Album: Works by Six Artists Interpreting White." Curated by gallery owner Wade Wilson, the show is an exploration of both the limits and the opportunities of using a limited color range to create a painting. Gallery Director Susanna Kise says, "Though white is defined as a 'lack of color,' the artists in our exhibition seem to embrace it as a color." Jill Moser, for example, uses a white base covered with marks in varying shades of white and gray. Meet Moser and the other five artists at an opening reception 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4.
