Menopause, the Musical

Hot flashes and cold sweats - yeah, that sounds like fodder for a Broadway show

A group of middle-aged women, including a housewife, a soap opera star, a business professional and an earth mother, sing and dance their way through the change of life in Menopause, the Musical. If hot flashes, cold sweats, forgetfulness, droopy boobs and - shudder - vaginal dryness don't seem to be the stuff of great musical comedy, keep in mind that those things are much funnier when they aren't happening to you. Set in a department store lingerie shop, the show gives voice to the concerns, misconceptions and, ultimately, triumphant attitudes of four women who meet by chance and start a conversation about the dreaded change of life. 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, 2 and 5:30 p.m. Sundays. Through June 27. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.thehobbycenter.org. $54.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 15. Continues through June 27, 2010
