Today's installment in the Sake Sundays film series is Yojimbo. The story begins in 19th-century Japan, when a samurai named Sanjuro wanders into a rural village. An innkeeper befriends the stranger, but Sanjuro soon finds himself marked for death by one of the ruthless gangsters who run the village. When Sanjuro escapes the first assassination attempt, the gangster kidnaps the innkeeper in order to force the samurai back out into the open for a showdown. Filled with athletic action scenes and an intense, brooding atmosphere, Yojimbois a classic good guy/bad guy face-off. 7:30 p.m. Alamo Drafthouse/West Oaks, 1000 West Oaks.
