More About

One of the true titans of the original New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden is celebrating 35 years on the leading edge of all things metal. The band was formed in 1975 and went through two lead singers before tapping the punkish Paul Di'Anno for 1980's monstrous self-titled debut. The unstable Di'Anno was shown the door by the next year to make room for Samson howler Bruce Dickinson, marking a turning point for Maiden. Iconic mascot Eddie in tow, the band then embarked on a string of albums that would lay the groundwork for most metal music to come after: The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave and the cult hit Somewhere in Time. Ahead of this summer's tour, the band has tracked newest studio effort The Final Frontier, which should hit stores by the end of the season.
