Girls hook up and talk-show hosts kick the bucket in An Evening of Original Plays, presented by Aside Productions. "This show has something for everyone," says Jessica Canfield, the temporary administrator of the company. The student-written plays featured in the evening include The Male Alphabet: "It's a romantic comedy about these two friends who are just out of college," Canfield says. "After one gets screwed over by a guy, they try to fill the alphabet with names of men they've been with." All the Wrong Pieces "is a dramedy about a guy whose parents are trying to get him to start looking at colleges and...him trying to find his way." There's also a farce called Second Banana about the pressure on talk-show hosts to get their ratings up. Canfield says, "The talk-show host ends up getting killed during the taping of the show." (Ouch!) 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive. For information, call 281-795-1662 or visit www.asideproductions.org. $5.
