Artist Harold Garde once said, "I don't trust pretty, and I don't trust nice." Viewers will see just how unpretty and un-nice the ninetysomething artist's work can be at the "Harold Garde" exhibit, part of Art Houston 2010. Garde's work might seem to be an odd choice for Wade Wilson Art, where fans have come to expect abstract, minimalist work (Garde's paintings certainly have a much more figurative aesthetic). But the pairing really isn't so strange; the two men have known each other for more than 20 years, and Garde's work has been included in exhibitions curated by Wilson twice before. The exhibit opens July 10, with an opening reception 6 to 9 p.m. Regular viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. NOTE DATE CHANGE: Through September 3. 4411 Montrose. For information, call 713-521-2977 or visit www.wadewilsonart.com. Free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 10. Continues through Sept. 3, 2010
