Dame Agatha Christie's stage play The Mousetrap has kept audiences asking “whodunit?” for more than 50 years. The play’s longevity is largely attributed to Christie’s finely drawn characters and carefully crafted plot, not to mention a twist ending done in classic Christie style. Presented as part of the Alley Theatre’s ExxonMobil Summer Chills series, the mystery mistress’s tale is centered on a group of vacationers (plus one murderer) trapped by a snowstorm. The group includes a pair of newlyweds, an architect, a passing motorist, a retired major, the hotel’s proprietor and a detective. Shocked to discover there’s a killer among them, they each try to identify the culprit before there can be another murder. 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
