Author Paula Butturini will read from and sign her book Keeping the Feast today at Brazos Bookstore. In this memoir, Butturini shares the tragedy and triumph of her life. As newlyweds, Butturini and her husband moved from Italy to Warsaw to report on the rebellion in Romania. After the near-fatal shooting of her husband, they return to Italy, turning to the comforts of cooking, tradition and friends to ease the pain and depression that resulted from their life-altering experiences with war. It is in these actions that Butturini is finally able to make peace with herself. 7 p.m. 2421 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-523-0701 or visit www.brazosbookstore.com. Free.
