Monkeys will be tried at Playhouse 1960 during the production of Inherit the Wind. The play centers on John T. Scopes, a high school teacher in 1925 Dayton, Tennessee, who violated the Butler Act when he taught his students Darwin's Theory of Evolution. The resulting uproar from parents, school and government officials resulted in Scopes--and in effect, Darwin's theories--being brought to trial. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Through August 14. 6814 Gant Road. For information, call 281-587-8243 or visit www.ph1960.com. $13 to $15.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: July 23. Continues through Aug. 14, 2010
