Scott Peacock, publicity chair for the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston, sums up the society's production of Patiencethis way: "If Monty Python had gotten together and written an opera, this is what they would have come up with. There's just lots and lots of silliness." The story of two poets and their various romantic entanglements, Patiencehas had a bit of an update for this run. "We tend towards a classical presentation," says Peacock. "We try to be authentic to the work and what was staged back in the 1880s." But he admits a few of the lyrics have been tweaked for a more modern twist on the humor. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Wortham Center, 500 Texas.
