“Following Huck Finn”

Logan Sebastian Beck sets out to find remnants of Mark Twain’s America

Photographer Logan Sebastian Beck pays homage to the author of one of the most beloved road-trip stories in American literature in his exhibit “Following Huck Finn.” Marking the 175th anniversary of Mark Twain’s birth and the 100th anniversary of his death, Beck made the trek from Houston to Hannibal, Missouri, by bike. Once there, he retraced the path taken by Twain’s famous fictional characters Huckleberry Finn and his friend Jim in reverse and sought out the echoes of the world Huck and Twain knew in today’s rural America. Opening reception 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. August 20. Regular viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Through September 25. Lawndale Art Center, 4912 Main.
