For "Las Comadres Recycled: Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition," Talento Bilingüe de Houston has assembled a total of eight life-size sculptures made from repurposed, found materials. The figures, created by several emerging Houston artists, including Liz Conces Spencer and Regina Agu, have bodies molded from cardboard tubes and planks of wood, and they're dressed in clothes made from crushed plastic bottles, plastic sheeting and wire, among other things. Meet the artists behind the unique creations at the opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. September 3. Regular viewing hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Through September 17. Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney. For information, call 713-400-7336 or visit www.discoverygreen.com. Free.
Sept. 3-17, 6 a.m.-11 p.m., 2010
