For 80 years, fans of the 1927 film Metropolis have seen only parts of Fritz Lang’s classic science fiction tale (bits and pieces had been lost over time). But two years ago, an almost complete copy of the film was discovered in Argentina, with some 25 minutes worth of scenes that furthered the story of a city in the future where workers are enslaved to sustain the ruling elite. Now being billed as The Complete Metropolis, the film screens at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday. Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org. $6 to $7.
Sept. 2-4, 7 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 5, 5 p.m.; Mon., Sept. 6, 2 p.m., 2010
