Poodle-mix Sylvia thinks her new master is a god, which is the way most owners would like it. But that doesn't stop the middle-aged, middle-class couple who take in the stray from coming apart at the seams when Sylvia romps into their lives. This is the basic story line of A.R. Gurney's 1995 Sylvia.
