With the series Juarez: a Killing Field, the Rothko Chapel explores the ongoing violence in the city just south of El Paso that has resulted in hundreds of deaths and disappearances. Today’s program, Murder City, will be led by Charles Bowden, whose latest book follows the lives of three Juarez citizens. You can meet Bowden at a reception following the program. Next week, Dr. Cecilia Balli will focus on gender violence in her program, City of Death; City of Hope. The third program, The Most Dangerous Place to Practice Journalism, will be led by Alfredo Corchado, Dallas Morning Newsbureau chief in Mexico City. Bowden speaks at 7 p.m. on October 5, Balli at 7 p.m. on October 12 and Corchado at 7 p.m. on October 19. 3900 Yupon. Seating is limited.
