Ten years ago, Sarah Gish launched her own public relations company. Her very first client? The Southwest Alternate Media Project, a nonprofit organization that promotes filmmaking, affectionately known as SWAMP. To celebrate her first decade in business, Gish is holding a fund-raiser for SWAMP with a screening of the music documentary For the Sake of the Song: The Story of Anderson Fair. The film chronicles the story of a small venue that's managed to have a major impact on the music industry by launching the careers of several singer/songwriters. Fans might recognize a name or two - let's see, there's Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams and Guy Clark, just to name a few. After the screening at the River Oaks Theatre, there's a limited-seated after-party at Anderson Fair with live performances by several artists seen in the film. The screening is at 7 p.m. 2009 West Gray. The after-party is at 9:30 p.m. 2007 Grant. For information, visit www.swamp.org/gishfundraiser.html. $15 to $50.
