Houston Symphony: Chris Botti

The Grammy Award winner partners with the CWMP Pops

Be ready to be charmed and romanced by one of the most popular trumpeters on the jazz scene today, Chris Botti. Master of pop and classical repertoires, Botti is most at home with jazz (for the last six years, he's been the bestselling American jazz instrumentalist). Grammy Award winner Botti has shared the stage with such superstars as Sting, Joshua Bell and even Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. Today, he'll be accompanied by the Cynthia Woods Mitchell POPS and will perform fan favorites such as "When I Fall in Love," "Time to Say Goodbye" and "Italia." The Nashville Symphony's Assistant Conductor Kelly Corcoran will be at the podium leading the orchestra as well as Botti, who was once voted one of the 50 Most Beautiful People by People magazine. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana. For information, call 713-224-7575 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. $25 to $125.
