"Cosmopolitan Routes: Houston Collects Latin American Art"

In just ten short years, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Latin American art department has gone from thin to robust. "Cosmopolitan Routes: Houston Collects Latin American Art,"an exhibit of more than 100 masterworks, is just the first in a series of shows that will mark the ten-year point for the collection. Included are pieces by Joaqu’n Torres-Garc’a, Francisco Matto and, of course, the daring duo of Mexican art, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The exhibit includes video, installations, paintings, photography and assemblage. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 12:15 to 7 p.m. Sundays.
