Art Palace was our Best of Houston¨ pick for Best Art Gallery, so there's lots of buzz about what's coming up. "It's better to regret something you have done"offers a sneak peak at the gallery's 2011 season. Director Arturo Palacios says the exhibit continues the gallery's mission of showcasing artists who Ñ as the title suggests Ñ aren't afraid to try things, even if they might regret them later. "It's more about doing what they have to do, doing what they're called to do and pushing through," says Palacios. "I think it's true for the artists, and I think it's true for me as a gallerist." Palacios points to videographer Kara Hearn as an artist who injects every piece with her personality. "[Her] work has this really dark, twisted sense of humor," says Palacios. Hearn's latest piece, Tremendous, weaves together hours of random footage to explore personal relationships. The show also features work by Houston sculptor Jillian Conrad, multimedia artist Linda Post and painters Jim Nolan, Barry Stone and Nathan Green. Opening reception: 6 to 8 p.m. October 30. Regular viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through March 6. 3913 Main. For information, call 281-501-2964 or visit www.artpalacegallery.com. Free.
