In Je'Caryous Johnson's Marriage Material, the Houston-based playwright asks, "What do you do when you're in love with somebody who's in love with somebody else?" We suggest you start a flow chart to keep up with all the on-and-off romantic pairings in the show as the characters - a tangled web of lovers, exes and wannabes - try to figure it out. His lead character Koren goes on a premarital retreat with her fiancé and nice guy Joey, only to find that her current boss and ex-lover Cameron is also there and ready to leave his wife for another chance at love with Koren. Koren's ex-fiancé Michael and his new squeeze/baby momma Jackie are also in attendance. Oh, did we mention that Koren is still hot for Michael, and that Jackie is her best friend? Along comes Bishop Luther Lance Love Jones, the retreat leader who would be helping Koren and her gaggle, except that his own marriage is falling apart.
