If you can't make it out to Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin this weekend, Houston will be getting plenty of runoff from that festival's lineup — like this bill, a seeming one-stop shop for all things thrash and metal. Headliners Suicidal Tendencies are skate-punk royalty, and their 1983 self-titled album remains recommended listening for anyone growing up hardcore. Oakland's High on Fire are clocking in their third Bayou City visit in the past year, and their second in just six months; the band's latest album, Snakes for the Divine, has been smoking our headphones stupid since it was unleashed in March. Kylesa is one of modern metal's most underrated bands, continuously making challenging and brutal albums for a decade now. As for Municipal Waste, the Summer Fest 2010 alumni are the closest spiritual brothers to Suicidal Tendencies here, so get to Warehouse early to get sloppy with them. You won't regret it. "Horny for Blood," anyone?
