Isabella Rossellini

Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman's daughter is honored for her own film accomplishments

If you feel the earth move this week, it's just the planet reacting to Isabella Rossellini's white-hot star power. The actor/filmmaker/environmentalist is in town for the 2010 Cinema Arts Festival, and today she'll take part in the 40th-anniversary tribute to Rice Media Center. Her father, director Roberto Rossellini, worked with John and Dominique de Menil to launch the center years ago. During the celebration, Rossellini will introduce a screening of Viaggio in Italia (Journey to Italy); considered a masterpiece, it was directed by her father and starred her mother, Ingrid Bergman. Rossellini will also introduce her own film tribute to her father, My Father Is 100 Years Old, and an interview her father conducted with the de Menils regarding their vision for the media center. And on Friday there's "An Evening with Isabella Rossellini," at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where she'll receive the festival's first Levantine Cinema Arts Award and there will be screenings of Green Porno, Seduce Me and Isabella Rossellini - My Wild Life. 8 p.m. Thursday. Rice Media Center, 6100 Main. $10. 7 p.m. Friday. MFAH, 1001 Bissonnet. $15. For a full schedule, visit www.cinemartsociety.com.
Thu., Nov. 11, 8 p.m., 2010
