If you are looking for a one-stop shop this weekend to examine the headspace of all things heavy and dirty in Houston, you should probably be at Fitzgerald's on Friday night for this mini-fest of sorts. Billed as Venomous Maximus's 7" release show, this lineup is so much more than that — ten punk, thrash, metal and boogie bands split between Fitz's upstairs and downstairs rooms. If you spent the whole day with family pillaging and plundering American Consumerland nursing a turkey hangover, Venomous's new release will be the best Black Friday antidote you can find. And the price isn't bad, either, coming in at completely free. Be sure to check out Omotai, who released one of the best local metal albums of the year with the snaky Peace Through Fear. The bill also includes Ryan Scroggins & the Trenchtown Texans if you need a peaceful, easy rock-steady in the middle of the mayhem. If you don't have a tattoo sleeve, or at least one tattoo, you have to pay $5 to get in. Just kidding.
