“Nacho Mama’s Fridge!”

“Nacho Mama’s Fridge!” is a collection of art ideal for the gift-giving season. (Read: It’s affordable.) The group show, curated by Emily Sloan, features small-scale works by local artists, including jewelry, photographs, comics and paintings, all showcased in Box 13’s tiny, frigid Kenmore Gallery (also a compact refrigerator). Merilee Minshew’s earrings, Sweet Meats, are a pair of tiny, dangling T-bones — a must-have for any beef lover (or ironic vegetarian). Bonnie Blue adorns cars, lingerie, rocks and more with images of memorable women from Lucille Ball to Frida Kahlo. Kristi Wilson, currently a resident at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, creates jewelry inspired and made from everyday objects. One of her brooches, Bling Bling, was fashioned from the rearranged elements of a necklace purchased in a vending machine. 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Through December 17. 6700 Harrisburg. For information, call 713-582-1198 or visit www.box13artspace.com. Free.
Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 13. Continues through Dec. 17, 2010
