Seven idealistic young Americans set out on the path to become spiritual leaders in the documentary The Calling. The film, an unblinking look at modern religious traditions, follows each through years of study and training, then into their individual practices as religious professionals, documenting their struggle to lead an “I’ll have my cake and eat it, too” flock of Americans.
