6 p.m. Thursday, December 16, at Warehouse Live (Green Room), 813 St. Emanuel, 713-225-5483 or www.warehouselive.com.
Get into the holiday spirit with Canned Acoustica, an acoustic charity concert benefiting the Houston Food Bank. The event spotlights some of Houston's best singer-songwriters in a quiet and seated setting — well, at least the "quiet" is encouraged. Robert Ellis, listenlisten, Benjamin Wesley, Sara Van Buskirk, Chase Hamblin, Black Queen Speaks, Mason Lankford and Winter Wallace and more (12 in all) are lined up to do subdued versions of their songs during their 20-30-minute sets. The cost of admission is just two canned food items — no cash accepted — which for 12 acts is not a bad deal at all. Most of the artists on this bill are currently recording or workshopping new material, so Tuesday is also a good chance to hear some tracks while they are still in utero.
