Spanish bricklayer-by-trade Lucio Urtubia spent a lifetime fighting for anti-Franco and anarchist causes — the highlight of which was a 1977 effort in which he forged millions of dollars worth of Citibank Travellers checks, causing the firm’s stock price to fall. The Basque Zorro, as he was called, then used the funds to support various guerrilla causes in Latin America. Surprisingly, he only spent a few months in prison for his crimes. Urtubia’s fascinating story — which also includes tales of kidnapping, Black Panthers and ex-Nazis — is recounted in the documentary Lucio, which will be screened as part of the Dinner and Movie event hosted by Sedition Books, an all-volunteer anarchist bookstore/library and community center. 7 p.m. 901 Richmond. For information, call 713-523-0807 or visit www.seditionbooks.org. Free.
