Stripping Through the Ages

Forget Cher and Christina — Angi B. Lovely and Melissa Meaow are the real ladies of burlesque. Valentine and Joule are amongst several other scantily clad beauties appearing in the holiday treat Ruby Revue Burlesque Show’s Stripping Through the Ages. Based out of Dallas, the Ruby Revue Burlesque Show will mix pinup girl glamor, bumps, grinds and good old-fashioned striptease dances to illustrate the changing history of burlesque through the last few decades. Unlike the film version, women of all shapes and sizes will be strutting their stuff at the show, with outfits that consist of little more than a garter, tassels, and some jewels. Frenchie Kiss, member of the award-winning Chicago Starlets burlesque troupe with a particular talent for tassel twirling, will also perform. A DJ and dance party follow the show. 8 p.m. House of Blues, 1204 Caroline. For information, call 713-652-5837 or visit www.hob.com. $20.
